This image started, unbelievably, as a knitted cushion cover. I photographed it this afternoon, and thought it looked quite ordinary. So…. a play was required. I cropped into the image then made 4 layers, and joined them like a kaleidoscope, and still it looked average. I then applied a twirl filter to each quarter, repositioned them in the frame slightly, and applied the threshold slider and the image became Hooked. Hard to believe the whole thing started as a cushion cover! I wonder what Minor White would make of it if he was still alive today.
Each week I'll publish a new image as part of a joint Project 52, with my friend in the USA. We both make an image every week, and send them to each other. We are now in the 2nd year of this project. We find it challenging, stimulating and fun. Life should be fun.
