The last tenacious leaves are clinging to the cherry blossom tree outside the dining room window, and they won’t make it through until next week. There was only one opportunity left for a weekly image to include these leaves. My thought was to create something with an impression of movement, to give the feel of an autumn breeze, without the usual slow shutter speed to blur the leaves. This was taken at f2.5, 1/200 at ISO125. I then added a texture layer and used the blending options and varied the opacity of both layers. I tried various things, but this one gives the best feeling of movement without blurring the leaves. Its a bit of a departure from my usual preference for a clean look, but it is fun to try different things. What was frustrating though was to remove the colour. The leaves are a gorgeous orange, so to make this into something that it is not was a challenge.
Each week I'll publish a new image as part of a joint Project 52, with my friend in the USA. We both make an image every week, and send them to each other. We are now in the 2nd year of this project. We find it challenging, stimulating and fun. Life should be fun.
