We ran out of cotton buds a few days ago, and I love the way they are packed in neat little circles in a tidy little clear plastic container. My husband was about to open the new package, pick one out and wreck the pattern, until I yelped. When I told him I wanted to photograph the pattern he looked at me with that look I get when he can’t really believe his ears. It turned out harder to photograph that I thought it would be, but I was finally happy with the result. I wanted only a thin line in focus and the rest soft. And if it could be high key too, that would be even better. That was what I visualised away and it made a nice change from the high contrast images I seem drawn to so often.
Each week I'll publish a new image as part of a joint Project 52, with my friend in the USA. We both make an image every week, and send them to each other. We are now in the 2nd year of this project. We find it challenging, stimulating and fun. Life should be fun.
