We have been visiting Perth Western Australia. The house where we stayed is built in the distinctive "Federation" style which is very Australian. This typically patterned glass sits beside the front door. The Federation style of building is common in Australia, with wide verandas and eaves to shelter the interior from the hot sun in summer and high ceilings. Often the houses are built of brick, as this one is. The original houses command high prices now, and often they have been modernised and extended for today's lifestyle. They are an attractive and practical solution to high temperatures.
Each week I'll publish a new image as part of a joint Project 52, with my friend in the USA. We both make an image every week, and send them to each other. We are now in the 2nd year of this project. We find it challenging, stimulating and fun. Life should be fun.
